ABOUT

My name's Doug Brown, I'm a London based freelance Motion Graphics and VFX artist.

I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2013 studying 'CGI Modelling and Animation BSc (Hons)' for which I received a 2:1, at the Digital Design Centre situated within Bournemouth & Poole College.

My professional journey then began in Bournemouth during that summer of 2013, as I was lucky enough to be given animation work at 'Rock Paper Film' (Now 'Little Blue Hut'). I was part of a small team producing a series of animations for Boots Pharmacy, spanning two months of production.

After that project wrapped up, I had the great fortune to then be hired full-time by 'The LightSide' / 'White Lantern Film' also based in Bournemouth, were I stayed working at for almost three years. It was a really valuable working experience and I was able to be involved with many great projects. These ranged from some big commercial work for companies like Sainsburys and LV=™ Liverpool Victoria, to doing VFX and Titles animation on an independent feature film the company produced called 'K-SHOP'.

In August 2016 I shifted my focus to doing more freelance work full-time, initially with a great production company called 'Sunstone', sourcing work from Norway and the UK. I really enjoyed this new-found sense of freedom working in a freelance capacity. In 2018 I started taking work onsite in London, finally moving here in 2020, allowing me to put down roots and work with some absolutely fantastic people and companies.
